Chrome extension

Use the Sponsy Chrome extension to fetch inventory, copy ad blocks, import ad block drafts, and keep sales workflows connected to Sponsy.

The Sponsy Chrome extension is currently in beta and is still being developed. Available functionality may change as the extension is refined.

The extension helps teams work with Sponsy inventory, ad blocks, and customer context from the tools they already use.

Use it when your team wants to review inventory, copy Sponsy ad block HTML, import ad block drafts, or reduce the amount of switching between external tools and Sponsy.

Install the extension

Install Sponsy from the Chrome Web Store.

After installing, sign in to Sponsy and open the extension from Chrome's extensions menu or side panel.

What the extension does

The extension can:

  • Detect the active Sponsy workspace.
  • Show publications, placements, slots, and ad blocks in an inventory tab.
  • Fetch ad block HTML for the selected slot or placement.
  • Copy ad block HTML for use in external editors.
  • Support ad blocks from child placements.
  • Help match external placement work to Sponsy placements.
  • Detect customer context from supported pages such as Gmail or HubSpot.

General workflow

  1. Open the external tool where you are preparing sponsorship content or reviewing customer context.
  2. Open the Sponsy Chrome extension.
  3. Choose the correct workspace and publication.
  4. Find the relevant placement, slot, customer, or ad block.
  5. Copy the Sponsy content you need or open the linked Sponsy record.
  6. Review the result in the external tool before publishing, sending, or handing off the work.

The extension is designed to keep Sponsy context close to the work your team is doing outside of Sponsy, so users do not need to rebuild the same ad block or search manually for the right slot.

beehiiv workflow

Sponsy has a beehiiv-specific workflow in the Chrome extension for teams that build newsletter sponsorships in beehiiv.

  1. Open beehiiv and start editing the newsletter issue.
  2. Open the Sponsy Chrome extension.
  3. Choose the correct workspace and publication.
  4. Find the relevant placement, slot, or ad block.
  5. Copy the ad block HTML from Sponsy.
  6. Paste or insert the copied block into the beehiiv editor.
  7. Preview the issue in beehiiv before publishing.

Use this workflow when you want to copy Sponsy ad block HTML into beehiiv and keep the newsletter placement aligned with the slot in Sponsy.

Ad block import

You can also create ad block drafts in Sponsy from existing sources. Upload HTML, paste a newsletter URL, or provide a screenshot so Sponsy can generate a starting point for the ad block.

After importing, review the generated block, confirm the variables, and test it with a real slot preview before using it in production.

Tips

  • Keep placement names clear so the extension can match external work to the right Sponsy inventory.
  • Use Ad Blocks in publication settings to maintain the source templates.
  • Preview copied HTML in the destination editor before sending or publishing.
  • If the extension appears connected to the wrong workspace, switch the workspace in the extension before copying content.

Troubleshooting

If the extension cannot find inventory, confirm that you are signed in to Sponsy, using the right workspace, and working in the matching environment.

If copied HTML does not look right in the destination editor, check the ad block styling in Sponsy and confirm the block preview uses the correct slot.
