Our Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions about using Sponsy, including workspace setup, sponsorship workflows, integrations, portals, and reporting.
What is Sponsy?
Sponsy is an all-in-one sponsorship management platform for organizing, automating, and growing sponsorship revenue. It brings inventory, advertiser collaboration, sales, reporting, and operational workflows into one place.
Where should I start after creating a workspace?
Start with the quick start guide. Configure your first publication's schedule, placements, content fields, and statuses so Sponsy reflects how your team sells and delivers sponsorships.
Where do I manage sponsorship inventory?
Use the Inventory Hub to view availability across publications, book slots, manage existing bookings, and review revenue. You can switch between List, Calendar, Timeline, and Table views depending on the work you are doing.
Can I manage multiple publications and placements?
Yes. Sponsy can manage multiple publications from one workspace. Each publication can have its own schedule, placements, pricing, content requirements, statuses, notifications, integrations, and task templates.
How does Sponsy help prevent double bookings?
The Inventory Hub is the source of truth for availability. Publication schedules create open inventory, booked or blocked dates become unavailable, and Storefronts only offer dates that are still available.
How do advertisers submit assets and approve content?
Each advertiser can use a private Customer Portal to view booked slots, complete the content fields you configure, upload extra assets, leave comments, and approve creative. Approved content is locked against further advertiser edits unless an admin revokes the approval.
Do advertisers need a Sponsy account to use the Customer Portal?
No. Anyone with the customer's private portal link can access it without logging in. You control which portal sections and features are visible from Workspace Settings.
Can sponsors book inventory themselves?
Yes. A Storefront lets sponsors browse offers, choose available dates, provide contact details and assets, and submit an order. You can share a Storefront link, embed it on your website, or make it available through the Customer Portal.
Can I manage deals and proposals in Sponsy?
Yes. The Deals module provides a customizable pipeline for opportunities, campaign items, holds, contacts, payments, activity, and related tasks. You can also create proposals with inventory and pricing options, then share them with sponsors for review and acceptance.
Can Sponsy automate reminders and workflow updates?
Yes. Automations can react to events such as a status change or content approval, or run relative to dates such as an asset due date. Actions can send emails or Slack messages, update statuses and assignees, approve content, or synchronize metrics. Automations are available on the Scale plan and higher.
Can Sponsy fetch campaign metrics from my email platform?
Yes. Connect a supported ESP integration to retrieve metrics such as sends, opens, and clicks for matching newsletter sends. You can fetch metrics from a slot or use an automation to synchronize them and send reports to sponsors.
What can I do with Reports and Metrics?
The Reports module lets you filter and analyze slot or deal data, build charts, save reports, and export the current view as CSV or JSON. The Metrics module adds workspace-wide dashboards with revenue, fill rates, performance trends, publication comparisons, goals with notifications, and daily revenue recognition. Both modules are available on the Scale plan and higher.
Can I send emails from my own domain?
Yes. Add and verify a custom domain to send Sponsy emails from your business domain. You can configure multiple domains and associate them with different publications.
Can I invite teammates and control what they can access?
Yes. Team Management lets workspace owners invite members, edit their details, and configure access. You can control individual actions and hide financial values such as prices, deal values, revenue, and financial reports from specific teammates.
How do tasks work in Sponsy?
Tasks can belong to a slot, deal, or the workspace. Use task templates to add repeatable checklists automatically to new slots or deals, then assign owners and due dates so the team knows what needs attention.
Which tools can I integrate with Sponsy?
Sponsy connects with newsletter ESPs, CRMs, payment providers, Slack, Zapier, and other platforms. The homepage lists more than 20 integrations; visit the Integrations page for the current catalog and use Workspace Settings to connect them.
Can I connect Sponsy to custom systems or no-code workflows?
Yes. Use the REST API for custom integrations or Zapier for no-code workflows with thousands of apps. REST API v2 is the recommended starting point for new integrations and is currently in controlled beta access.
Can I connect AI tools to Sponsy?
Sponsy MCP can give approved MCP-compatible AI clients structured, permissioned access to Sponsy data and workflows. It is currently a closed beta; see the Sponsy MCP guide for access and setup details.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can start a free trial without a credit card. Sponsy also offers free concierge migration to help move your sponsorship operations into the platform.
